The choreographer, television producer, and actress is also known for laying the foundation stone of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities which worked as an advisory committee to the White House.
She accumulated substantial savings with her portrayals of Lydia Grant in Fame and Catherine Fox in Grey’s Anatomy. After parting ways with her former husband, Win Wilford, in 1983, Allen settled down with her present husband, Norm Nixon, in 1984, and till now, the two have been inseparable.
