The filmmaker garnered commercial success with Alien, a sci-fi horror flick, in 1979. He capitalized on his ineradicable success and gifted us blockbusters such as Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, Blade Runner, and The Martian.
He has been bestowed upon with the BAFTA Fellowship in 2018 and had previously been knighted for his immense contribution to the film industry in Britain. He had gone through two divorces before getting hitched to the Costa Rican actress, Giannina Facio, in 2015.
